Bridgeville Is Turning 125 — We’re Throwing a Parade, And We Want YOU To Get Involved!

This summer, Bridgeville turns 125 — and the Bridgeville Community Association is planning nine days of celebration unlike anything this borough has seen.

From July 18 through 26, the BCA is hosting a week packed with events: a 5K Run/Walk, a Roaring 20s Dinner and Dance, a four-night carnival, live music, an adult comedy show, contests for all ages, a co-ed softball tournament, and much more. The full schedule is at Bridgeville.org/125.

On Sunday, July 19 comes one of the celebration’s most anticipated moments: a full-blown community parade and float contest, starting at 12:30 PM. And we’re inviting you to be a part of this event.

There are several ways to get involved, especially for community groups, bands, vintage car owners, and local emergency responders—like fire, EMS, and police departments.

To express your interest, simply fill out the Google Form that the parade organizers have set up.

If none of those categories fit, you can also take part by building a parade float!

Enter the Float Contest

The parade includes a float contest open to organizations, clubs, churches, businesses, and families throughout the greater Bridgeville area. We want to see what our community’s most creative minds come up with.

Cash prizes will be awarded:

-$200 for first place
-$75 for second place

Winners will be announced at the carnival stage following the parade, around 6PM.

Judging will be handled by a panel of community members selected by the BCA Parade Committee, and floats will be evaluated on originality, design and workmanship, use of color and theme, how well the float reflects the character of the group, and overall appearance.

The Theme: “Celebrate Our Community and History”

This year’s parade theme is “Celebrate Our Community and History.” Whether your float pays tribute to Bridgeville’s past, highlights what makes our community special today, or looks ahead to the next 125 years, there’s room for your vision in this parade.

What You Need to Know

The registration deadline is June 1, 2026. All entries must complete a parade application and receive confirmation from the parade committee. Floats must be built on some type of mechanized vehicle or trailer, decorated for a family atmosphere, and designed to be safe for both participants and spectators. The BCA will review each entry’s theme or idea as part of the registration process — describing your float concept is a required part of the application.

On parade day, all float entries must be in place at the starting line by 11 AM. Lineup will be at the Bethany Church Parking Lot. A map showing the parade route and formation areas will be emailed to registered participants about a week before the event.

Get Involved

You don’t need a professional float-building operation to participate. Families are welcome. If you’ve got a truck, a trailer, some decorations, and an idea that celebrates Bridgeville, that’s a float. The deadline is June 1st, so start planning now — and help make Bridgeville’s 125th a celebration to remember.
