PNC Bank is expected to move out its Bridgeville location this spring.
There’s no longer enough foot traffic at the bank’s 456 Washington Avenue branch to warrant keeping it open, a PNC representative told the borough recently.
When the Bridgeville branch closes—possibly in April—the nearest PNC location will be at Great Southern Shopping Center.
The PNC closing is emblematic of a larger trend across the United States. When customers have less need to walk into a physical bank branch, banks have less reason to keep those branches open.
There has been no word on what will become of the space that PNC now occupies.
