Despite Election Loss, Petrocelli Sr. Isn’t Ready To Leave Public Service

Nino Petrocelli Sr at one of his final meetings as a Bridgeville borough councilmanNino Petrocelli Sr.’s decades-long run as a borough councilman has come to an end, but that doesn’t mean that Bridgeville’s best-dressed elected official is ready leave public service.

In a Post-Gazette profile last week, Petrocelli Sr. said that he hopes to stay involved in the community as a volunteer on one of the borough’s commissions.

“I’m 81, but I’m not sure I want to slow down yet,” Petrocelli Sr. told the paper.

In addition to being the only octogenarian who could wear a lime green polo shirt with a fauxhawk and make it look good, Petrocelli Sr. was instrumental in creating Bridgeville’s road maintenance program and in the effort to restore the borough’s war memorial.

The Post-Gazette profile is a fun read, as Petrocelli’s life story is basically the American immigrant dream, with a guest appearance by Mr. McFeely from Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.
