Last week, at least eight Chartiers Valley High School students staged a mid-day walkout because they do not want wear facemasks at school during the current global pandemic.
Although the students were small in number, they were big on media coverage, as a WPXI news crew waited at the bottom of the school’s entrance to record the protest. There was even a news helicopter (or possibly a camera drone) capturing the scene from above.
Based on WPXI’s footage, the protesting students were outnumbered by the adults who showed up to protest. Some of the grown-ups appeared to be parents of Chartiers Valley students, while others reportedly showed up after attending a similar rally over at Montour High school.
