Pennsylvanians are waiting on the results from a report ordered by Gov. Tom Wolf in March that looked for ways to replace Pennsylvania's gas tax.
One of the proposals to raise more money for Pennsylvania's highway system included tolling nine bridges across the state including the I-79 bridge in Bridgeville and the Canoe Creek Bridge along I-80 in Clarion County.
It's unclear whether the bridge tolls will be recommended in the report, expected this week, but the primary revenue-raiser could be something called a "vehicle-miles-traveled fee."
House Appropriation Committee Chairman Stan Saylor said that as the economy rebuilds from the COVID-19 pandemic, he predicts no action on this until at least 2023.
