Uncontested primary races in the Bridgeville and Carnegie area
There are several uncontested primary races in the Signal Item’s coverage area, according to the Allegheny County Office of Elections unofficial candidate list.
Bridgeville
Bridgeville Mayor Betty Copeland, a Democrat, is running unopposed in the primary. No Republican candidates are listed.
Four Democrats are vying for four ballot spots for council: Michael Chiodo, Justine Cimarolli, incumbent William Henderson and Michael Neely.
Four Republicans are also running for four ballot spots on council: incumbent Bruce Ghelarducci, Robert Fryer, incumbent Virginia Schneider and incumbent Joseph Verduci.
Carnegie
Carnegie Mayor Stacie Riley, a Democrat, is running unopposed in the primary. No Republican candidates are listed.
Democrat Phil Boyd, an incumbent, is the only candidate running for the Ward 1 council spot.
In Ward 2, Democrats Emmett Freshwater, an incumbent, and Peter Mullins will be on the November ballot. No Republican candidates are listed in this race.
Heidelberg
Heidelberg Mayor Kenneth Lasota, a Democrat, is running unopposed in the primary. No Republican candidates are listed.
Three Democrats will have their names on the November ballot for council: Dorothy McCartney, Richard Pattinato and incumbent Sharon Wicobroda.
Charles Jones is the only Republican council candidate on the primary ballot.
South Fayette
In South Fayette, incumbent commissioner Rebecca Sray, a Democrat, is the only candidate on the ballot. No Republicans are listed for the primary.
South Fayette School Board
Four candidates are cross-filed for four spots on the November ballot: incumbents Leonard Fornella and Jennifer Iriti; and Prajakta Patankar and Joseph Welch.
