A plan to toll nine Pennsylvania bridges, including the I-79 bridge in Bridgeville, has hit a roadblock in the state Senate.
On Tuesday, the Senate approved a bill to require PennDOT to first secure approval form the state legislature.
Some Republican senators said the process leading to PennDOT’s bridge tolling announcement has lacked transparency and was never envisioned by lawmakers when they created the public-private transportation partnership board in 2012.
The Wolf administration opposes the bill.
