RELATIVE SAY GILLIS HAD SUFFERED FROM DEMENTIA. AND MORE BREAKING NEWS, THIS TIME FROM BRIDGEVILLE, IN ALLEGHENY COUNTY. FIRE AT A HOME HERE ALONG DEWEY AVENUE. A MAN WAS SLEEPING INSIDE THE HOME, UNAWARE OF THE FIRE AROUND HIM. TWO GUYS AT A NEARBY PIZZA SHOP SAW WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND RACED IN TO HELP. >> ITS DIVINE INTERVENTION. I’M GLAD HE’S OK. WE NEVER WOULD HAVE KNOWN ANYTHING WAS GOING ON. WE WOULD HAVE BEEN OBLIVIOUS TO WHAT WAS GOING ON. >> WE WERE TRYING TO RENOVATE THE PLACE WHEN WE CLOSED. Man rescued from burning home in Bridgeville, Allegheny County
A man was rescued from a burning by two men who saw the flames in Bridgeville, Allegheny County Saturday.The fire started at a home along Dewey Avenue.A man was sleeping inside the home, unaware of the fire around him.Two men at a nearby pizza shop saw what was happening and raced in to help. "It's divine intervention. I'm glad he's ok. We never would have known that anything was going on. We would have been in pizza mode, and we would have been oblivious to what was going on," said Zack Adams and Stephen Hines, the men who rescued the man.Adams told Pittsburgh's Action News 4 that his military training helped him in the rescue.Investigators are working to learn what started that fire.
