Soon, Bridgeville will be able to get notices about important events, meetings, and other happenings around town simply by driving past the borough building.
Earlier this month, council unanimously approved the purchase and installation of an LED message board at 416 Darby Way. That’s the empty, borough-owned lot next to the municipal building.
The sign will be housed on a brick frame that matches the borough building’s exterior. The project will cost $37,235.
The sign will share information about local events, upcoming government meetings, and other messages pertinent to the community, said borough manager Joe Kauer.
Earlier this year, Bridgeville demolished the long-condemned house that used to sit at 416 Darby Way. In addition to adding the LED message board, the borough plans to turn the land into a 12-car parking lot, which would greatly expand parking in the nearby area.
