Bridgeville Public Library Reopens Today

Bridgeville-South Fayette Library Director Ben Hornfeck outlines the library’s reopening plan at borough council’s Sept. 14, 2020 meeting.

The Bridgeville Public Library reopened to patrons this morning, after shutting its doors for nearly six months due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

It won’t be business as usual, however; the reopening comes with new rules to limit risk to visitors and employees.

  • New library hours are Mondays – Thursdays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays 10 a.m. to 4 pm.
  • Proper face coverings that cover the nose and mouth required at all times (mask or face shield).
  • Visits are limited to 45 minutes.
  • Visitors can browse the library, but must maintain a 6 feet distance from other people.
  • Computers will be available by appointment only. To make an appointment, call the library at 412-221-3737. You can also make a computer reservation online at bridgevillelibrary.org/computer-appointments.
  • Library employees will not provide assistance at computers or copiers.
  • There will be no in-person programming. Instead, the library will continue to provide virtual programs.
  • The community room is not available for meetings.
  • Curbside pickup is available during library hours. Contact the library to schedule your curbside appointment.
  • Items should be returned in the library’s outside dropbox. Returned items will be quarantined for at least four days.
