A community meet-and-greet event for Bridgeville’s two new police officers turned into a real-life drug bust at Chartiers Park yesterday.
While handing out Kona Ice treats to a park full of children, police also arrested an unidentified Crafton man who was “driving like an idiot, acting like an idiot, and possessing 50 bags of heroin” according to Bridgeville police chief Chad King.
The event was meant to introduce Bridgeville residents to recently-hired officers William Johnson (full-time) and Daine Lower (part-time). The police department traveled the community with a truck serving Hawaiian-style flavored ice.
The last stop was Chartiers Park, where “JT from Crafton” reportedly caused a ruckus and was arrested.
“Apparently JT [from Crafton] thought this was dope with the cops,” King said.
