Next Week’s Traffic Forecast: Slightly Slow with a Chance of Frustration

If you have “Bridgeville traffic” on your Apocalypse 2020 bingo card, congratulations.

Beginning Monday, two different road closings at the same damn time are likely to result in some traffic delays.

First, a portion of Chartiers Street will close from Monday, July 20 through (approximately) Wednesday, July 22, as PennDOT workers try to stop the road from sliding down into Chartiers Park.

Chartiers Street will be closed from Elm Street to Bank Street, with vehicles detoured onto residential roads. It will look something like this:

Also on Monday, Painters Run Road in Upper St. Clair will be shut down for construction between Bower Hill and McMillan Roads. That closure is expected to last through at least Friday, July 27.

All of this is likely to push a lot of traffic onto Lesnett Road, said Bridgeville police chief Chad King.

“I am going to encourage motorists to find alternate routes,” he wrote on Facebook:
