Lots of carpeting was thrown into Dumpsters following the flood that ravaged parts of Bridgeville last month.
Although you can salvage a carpet from rainwater or a leaky ceiling, the water in a large-scale flood brings sewage, chemicals, and organisms that can cause infectious diseases.
On Monday morning, beginning at 10 a.m., area residents will have the chance to begin re-carpeting their homes when Rusmur Floors brings a box truck full of carpet remnants to Baldwin Street, according to borough officials.
Rusmur Floors Carpet One, located at 500 Station Street, has been based in Bridgeville since 1960.
