A building collapse had Bridgeville police asking motorists and residents to stay away from the intersection of McLaughlin Run Road and Baldwin Street on Sunday evening.

According to photos that the police department shared on Facebook, the front facade of 686 Baldwin Street was sagging inward earlier in the day. Then, a sizable chunk of the building’s second floor—including concrete blocks and wooden framing—fell to the sidewalk.

“Please avoid the area when driving and, for your safety, please just stay away from this demolition zone,” police warned residents.

Nobody was hurt. The two-story commercial building had been vacant for “some time” police said.

According to the Allegheny County Department of Real Estate, the building and lot are owned by Kevin P. Biber.

County records have the land valued at $31,800, while the building is assessed at $6,700.
