ROLL CALL
The meeting is opened by Mayor Betty Copeland with the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence for the sick, handicapped, departed, military personnel of our communities and for Leonard “Skip” Berton who recently passed away.

APPOINTMENT OF PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL
Mayor Copeland called for nominations to President of Council. Nino Petrocelli Sr. nominated Mike Tolmer.The nomination was seconded by Bruce Ghclarducci. Mike Tolmer was declared President of Council by acclamation.

Mayor Copeland called for nominations to Vice President of Council. Joseph Verduci nominated Bruce Ghelarducci. The nomination was seconded by Mike Tolmer. Bruce Ghelarducci was declared Vice President of Council by Acclamation.

The meeting is turned over to the newly elected Council President.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS
A motion was made by N. Petrocelli Sr., seconded by B. Ghelarducci re-appointing Dennis Orient to a five (5) year term on the Zoning Hearing Board to the first Monday in January 2023. All in favor, motion carried 7-0.

APPOINTMENT OF BOROUGH SOLICITOR
A motion was made by B. Ghelarducci, seconded by J. Colosimo appointing Gaitens, Tucceri & Nicholas, P.C. as the Borough legal consultants for the Calendar Year 2018. All in favor, motion carried 7-0.

APPOINTMENT OF BOROUGH ENGINEER
A motion was made by J. Verduci, seconded by J. Colosimo appointing The Gateway Engineers, Inc. as the consulting engineers for the Calendar Year 2018. All in favor, motion carried 7-0.

VISITORS, PLEASE STATE NAME AND ADDRESS

Mrs. Colosimo stated that January 12this the non-profit deadline for the newsletter.

MINUTES
A motion of the Borough Council regarding the minutes of the December 11, 2017 public hearing as submitted.

EXONERATION OF 2014 DELINQUENT REAL ESTATE TAXES
A motion was made by J. Verduci, seconded by B. Ghelarducci approving the exoneration of the Borough Real Estate Tax Collector Anne Marie Parisi for the Calendar Year 2014 Uncollected Real Estate Taxes. Remarks: M. Tolmer stated that the tax total is $9,237.23. A copy of the listing has been
attached for review. All in favor, motion carried 7-0.

LIST OF BILLS
A motion was made by J. Verduci, seconded by B. Ghelarducci approving the December 2017. Final Bill List. All in favor, motion carried 7-0.

PAYROLLS
A motion was made by N. Petrocelli Sr., seconded by .T. Colosimo approving the payrolls of January 5, 12, 19, 26 and February 2 and 9, 2018. All in favor, motion carried 7-0.

MONTHLY REPORTS
A motion was made by J. Verduci, seconded by B. Ghelarducci approving to pay any
commissions due the December 2017 Real Estate Tax Collector Report. All in favor, motion carried 7-0.

A motion was made By J. Verduci, seconded by n. Ghelarducci approving the November 2017
Financial Report. All in favor, motion carried 7-0.

OTHER REPORTS
MAYOR, BETTY COPELAND
Mayor Copeland stated that she is grateful for all that are attendance this evening and for the confidence that the Bridgeville residents placed in her to be a goodwill ambassador for our Borough. She stated that she is looking forward to working with everyone and God Bless us all. She thanked many people in the audience.

POLICE CHIEF, CHAD KING
Chief King stated that with the help of local business owners and residents; we successfully caught “Buddy” the Elf. He also congratulated the new and returning members of Council and Mayor Copeland. He also thanked Mayor DeBlasio for his years of service.

SOLICITOR, TONY COLANGELO
Solicitor Colangelo stated that on behalf of their law firm, he expressed their appreciation on being appointed the Borough’s solicitor for 2018.

ENGINEER, JOE SITES

FIRE CHIEF, WILLIAM CHILLEO
Fire Chief Chilleo welcomed everyone to Council. He stated that they conducted the Santa detail right after Buddy the Elf. It is nice seeing a lot of
kids in town again.

SOUTHBRIDGE EMS, DAN MILLER
Absent

BRIDGEVILLE HISTORICAL SOCIETY, MARY WEISE
M. Weise wished everyone a Happy New Year and congratulated the newly elected officials. She stated that January 5th will be the last day that you can see the replica ornaments of the White House Christmas tree. January 28th at 1 :30, Jack Aupperle will be speaking about “Lion in the White House.” It is a biography of Teddy Roosevelt.

February 13th at 7:00, John Oyler will be speaking about “The History of Bridgeville continued”.

February 25th at 1:30, Gary Augustine will be speaking about “Hollywood, WWII & the movies”.

March 27 at 7:30, Brian Charlton will be speaking about “Cement City, Danora, PA”.

As always, everyone is invited to attend.

LIBRARY DELEGATE

BOROUGH MANAGER, LORI COLLINS
Manager Collins has no report but welcomed back the elected officials, the newly elected officials and Mayor Copeland. She stated that she is looking forward to working with everyone.

OLD BUSINESS

NEW BUSINESS
J. Verduci stated that the BAA registration will be held January 13, 18 and 27 in the Council Chambers from 6-8 p.m.

M. Tolmer thanked and congratulated everyone on their positions old and new. He looks forward
to a good year.

B. Ghelarducci thanked everyone that came out tonight.
