The backstreet between Gregg Avenue and Chestnut Street, one known as Locust Alley, has been renamed to Eagle Way, in honor of the six Eagle Scouts who grew up nearby.
Borough council voted 6-0 last month to make the name change official. Neil Lyons was not present.
The name change came after Adam Kenerwell pointed out that six fellow Boy Scouts had earned Eagle Scout status while living on the block—Larry Lennon, Justin Lennon, Colin Lennon, Caleb Smith, Daniel Smith, and Matt Smith.
Renaming will also help avoid confusion, Kenerwell said, because Bridgeville already has a Locust Street.
