A few weeks ago, somebody pried open the scoreboard at Chartiers Park and ripped out the electronic components.
Now, the Bridgeville Athletic Association hopes to have security cameras installed to prevent this from happening again — or at least identifying the thief/vandal next time.
“Somebody can in, bent the whole thing and took all the guts…. for no reason at all,” said councilman Joe Verduci. “Thank goodness we have insurance. Those scoreboards are a lot of money, and the kids love to have that stuff available to them.
“Hopefully we can address this with some cameras and other things we’re planning on doing.”
Last year, somebody tried setting a swing-set on fire at Chartiers Park.
