Today is Election Day, and the clock is ticking for you to get out and vote.
But where do I vote?
The County Elections Department has a polling place finder that will tell you.
Am I even registered to vote?
You can double check using the PA voter registration status page.
Do I need to bring ID?
Only if it’s your first time voting at that location.
I know that I’m registered, but the poll workers can’t find my name.
Ask to vote with a provisional ballot. This is how the county records votes when there’s some question regarding a voter’s eligibility. Later, the county follows up to determine if your vote if valid.
Who’s running for office?
Here’s a nice summary of the State Supreme Court candidates.
If you’re like most people, you don’t know the rest of the judicial candidates, but the Allegheny Count Bar Association has providing a handy cheat sheet.
For the local races, there’s a list of candidates below.
Who Should I Vote For?
That’s up to you. At the state level, the judicial candidates have received endorsements from various interest groups.
At the local level, though, there’s no real difference between Democrats and Republicans. Everybody is against traffic congestion, and nobody is pro-potholes. Vote for the individuals you believe will find actually find solutions to the issues that matter to you.
