Motorists should expect delays on Bower Hill Road in Bridgeville this week, as part of the road closes for construction during daylight hours.
The quarter-mile of Bower Hill Road from Union Street to McLaughlin Run Road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Most vehicles will be detoured to Baldwin Street, which runs parallel to Bower Hill Road. Large trucks will take a more “scenic, entertaining, and challenging” route, according to Bridgeville Police:
That detour route will consist of the following: Washington Pike to Boyce Road, to Route 19 north, to Gilkeson Road, to Painters Run Road, to Bower Hill, (and vice versa).
This same stretch of road was closed for a few days last year, but that construction took place at night.
