Contrary to Rumors, CV Middle School Will Be Ready For Start of Classes on Sept. 5

August 10, 2017 By Tim McNellie

There’s no extended summer vacation coming up for Chartiers Valley Middle School students.

It looks like classes will begin as scheduled on Sept. 5 and the classroom sections of the new middle school will be ready.

Chartiers Valley School Board President Tony Mazzarini wanted to emphasize that point while talking to the district’s construction manager during a meeting earlier this week.

“We are going to open our schools on time and we are going to have our students in a safe environment for education, correct?,” Mazzarini said.

“School should start on Sept. 5,” said Jason Day, project manager with P.J. Dick, the firm overseeing construction.

If some elements of the project fall behind schedule between now and then, there are contingency plans that will allow the school to open on time, even if it means contractors working additional shifts (not at the school’s expense).
