Construction-wise, the classrooms at the new Chartiers Valley Middle School should be ready in time for the start of school next month.
But with only eight days between when the date that classroom work is complete and the day that teachers arrive, the school might face a time-crunch getting everything moved into the new building.
“The scramble may be less of a construction issue than it is moving two floors of furniture up one elevator,” superintendent Brian White told the school board last week.
To expedite things, the district may reach out to athletics booster groups, offering donations in exchange for student and parent help with moving.
Work on the new building’s non-classroom common spaces will continue during the school year, with work done in the evenings.
