Bower Hill Road Construction Expected to End Friday

August 31, 2017 By Tim McNellie

A construction worker guides a heavy equipment operator around a section of railroad track at Bower Hill Road and Railroad Street in Bridgeville, Pa.

The road construction currently causing severe gridlock in parts of Bridgeville is projected to wrap up tomorrow afternoon, according to Bridgeville Mayor Pat DeBlasio.

Construction workers stand alongside railroad tracks as part of a project to improve the railroad crossing at Bower Hill Road and Railroad Street in Bridgeville.

The intersection of Bower Hill Road and Railroad Street has been closed since early Wednesday morning. Although police advised motorists to avoid the area if at all possible—and officers are positioned at key spots along the detour—the result has been a “horrible” “painful” “nightmare” according to comments on social media.

While the road is closed, the construction crews are working to upgrade the railroad crossing at the intersection.
