For the third time this year, Bridgeville Borough had to replace a damaged decorative light pole on Washington Avenue.
The latest replacement came after a car hit a pole in the 400 block of Bridgeville’s main street. The pole was cracked in half and the globe surrounding the light was broken.
“We just can’t keep poles up,” borough manager Lori Collins told council. “We just finished putting the last pole in last week.”
The motorist’s insurance will cover the cost of the replacement.
The borough has taken to keeping a spare pole on hand at all times.
