VFW Post 586 over in South Fayette is collecting items to send to local military personnel serving abroad this holiday season. They’re also looking for the names of Bridgeville-area soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines stationed overseas who might like to receive a holiday care package.

“As members of the VFW, we know what it’s like to be overseas during the holidays and how it feels to get something,” post quartermaster Gary Vay told the Bridgeville Area News, which has the full write-up.

Items the VFW are collecting include dry goods, soap, peanuts, baked goods and hygienic items. Monetary donations also are accepted, and will help to pay for postage…

Items can be dropped off between noon and 10 p.m. daily at the VFW at 637 Millers Run Road, South Fayette. Money can be dropped off or mailed to VFW 586, P.O. Box 351, Cuddy, PA 15031.
