Tuesday’s election may be bringing big change to Washington, D.C., but otherwise, Bridgeville residents will be represented by many of the same folks as previously.

Incumbent State Representative Jason Ortitay (R-46) defeated Democratic challenger Joe Szpara.

Incumbent State Senator Guy Reschenthaler (R-37) defeated Democratic challenger Ed Eichenlaub.

Republican Tim Murphy remains your U.S. Congressman, and Republican Pat Toomey remains one of your two U.S. Senators, after defeating challenger Katie McGinty.

In statewide races, Democrat Josh Shapiro is your new attorney general. The previously elected attorney general, Kathleen Kane, was found guilty of criminal charges in August.

Democrat Joseph Torsella won the race for state treasurer. The previously elected state treasurer, Rob McCord, pleaded guilty to corruption charges last year.

In a four-way race for state auditor general, Democrat Eugene DePasquale defeated three challengers to win a second term.
