
Some of Bridgville’s fire hydrants have become camouflaged by the grass, weeds, and shrubs growing around them. That’s obviously not an good situation for firefighters who might respond to calls in those areas.
Now the borough is reminding residents with fire hydrants on their property not to let them become hidden by vegetation. Letters are being sent to a few property owners where the hydrants are just not visible anymore. If you have a hydrant nearby, it’s not a bad idea to make sure that it’s clearly visible from all angles.
Council discussed the issue at its June meeting:
