It’s official—political newcomer Joe Szpara has defeated former State Rep. Jesse White in the Pennsylvania District 46 Democratic primary.
In November, Szpara will face the incumbent, Republican State Rep. Jason Ortitay.
The 46th district represents parts of Allegheny and Washington counties, including Bridgeville.
Szpara, of Collier, posted this on Facebook yesterday:
On election night, Szpara led White by about 100 votes. That lead held, even after the absentee ballots were counted.
White represented the 46th district for four terms until losing his seat to Ortitay in 2014.
