New, Tiny T-Ball Field Planned For Chartiers Park

The Bridgeville Athletic Association plans to create a new T-ball practice field at Chartiers Park by flattening a small piece of hilly land at the end of one of the soccer fields.

The field will be used by children ages 3 and 4.

“It will be smaller than the smallest infield we [currently] have,” said Athletic Association president Mike Mincin.

Council voted 5-0 to give the association permission to level the land. The Athletic Association may add a backstop and benches, as well.

In related news:

  • The Athletic Association received an $8,400 grant from the Pittsburgh Pirates to help build dugouts at Cook School Park.
  • If there’s nowhere to dry your hands in Chartiers Park’s bathroom this summer, blame your fellow park-goers. The bathroom plumbing kept getting clogged up with paper towels, so the borough may just stop putting paper towels in the restrooms.
