Construction crews will replace a water main running almost the entire length of Washington Avenue in Bridgeville in a project that could begin in late January or early February.
Pennsylvania-American Water Company plans to replace the existing water main with a larger line, Bridgeville’s borough engineer, Joe Sites, told council earlier this month. The borough will use this as an opportunity to complete sanitary sewer repairs along that route.
The project will span Washington Avenue from approximately Chartiers Street to St. Clair Street. The water company and the borough are still mapping out some logistical details such as exactly when work will begin and whether construction will occur during the day or at night.
