A developer plans to build a hotel, an office building, and retail space at the site of the former Star City Cinemas along Route 50 in South Fayette.
Earlier this month, the township sold the property to a Canonsburg developer for $5 million. (That’s the same price the township paid when it bought the site in 2009).
From Pittsburgh Business Times’ Tim Schooley:
Horizon Properties Group plans to build a 30,000-square-foot office building, a hotel and 10,000 square feet to 15,000 square feet of shops and restaurants on a site located at Route 50 and Interstate 79…
The township estimates the new development by Horizon will generate at least $25 million worth of new commercial property from which to generate tax revenue.
Work could be complete in 24 months.
