How good is the chicken salad at the Bridgeville Rite-Aid?
Apparently, it’s good enough to steal, if you’re the 38-year-old Donora woman who was arrested for shoplifting a salad right around lunch time on July 15. In addition to the purloined poultry, the woman also stole Red Bull, chewing gum, peppermint breath mints, make-up, and sunglasses.
That’s the first local chicken salad larceny in recent memory, but it was the second Redbull-related theft in July:
On July 2, a 43-year-old man from Eighty-Four, Pennsylvania was charged with retail theft after stealing a can of the sugary energy drink.
One shoplifter who had no interest in Red Bull was the 28-year-old Washington man was who arrested on July 7. Instead, he was caught stealing a magazine and candy. He also had a warrant out for a retail theft in Collier and he was wanted for a probation violation in Washington County.
He had some marijuana on him while shoplifting. And a marijuana pipe.
He was taken to Allegheny County Jail.
On the other hand, if anybody could have used a Red Bull, it might be 27-year-old Collier man who police found laying unconscious on Darby Way on July 16. When he awoke, he was charged with public intoxication.
Meanwhile, the 40-year-old man who stole a case of beer from a Railroad Street never quite made it to Miller Time. Instead, he was arrested for retail theft.
And in grown-men-fighting news:
- On Sunday, July 19, at 6:18 p.m., police responded to reports of a fight on the 600 block of Baldwin Street. Two men were charged with disorderly conduct. One was 52 years old. The other was 46.
- Three days later, police were back on Baldwin Street because of fight reports, and once again a (different) 52-year-old man was charged with disorderly conduct, as was a 43-year-old man. This incident occurred at 10:02 a.m.
And finally:
Two Bridgeville men face drug charges after police responded to a disturbance on the 500 block of Dewey Avenue the night of July 6. Officers found drugs and drug paraphernalia in the apartment where the disturbance was reported. A 29-year-old man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. A 35-year-old man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
The same two men were also charged with stealing items from parked cars on the 400 block of Bank Street Extension.
