While walking through a local bar, a Bridgeville police officer noticed small, white crack cocaine rocks underneath one patron’s barstool.
After the patron was arrested and searched, police found a glass crack pipe and more crack rocks.
A photo of an officer’s gloved hand holding the drugs and pipe made a splash on the department’s Facebook page today, with residents thanking the department’s officers for their diligence.
The incident comes two weeks after police chief Chad King told borough council and residents that Bridgeville was seeing a spike in crime perpetuated by drug addicts.
At the tail end of a long discussion about parking ordinances, King said that, “Frankly, I’m more interested in dealing with the hordes of drugged-out zombies coming to town for our treatment clinics than I am worried about parking problems.”
During the past five years, the busiest hours for the police department have been during daylight and the early evenings — hours when rehab clinics tend to be open.
