The Best Places to Walk Your Dog Off-Leash Near Bridgeville

There’s no dog park in Bridgeville, and given the lack of open land in the borough, there’s probably not going to be one soon. But if you’re willing to drive a mile or two to Upper St. Clair, Wingfield Pines is a pretty fantastic spot to let your dog run without a leash.

Wingfield Pines isn’t really a dog park. It’s an 80-acre conservation area owned by the Allegheny Land Trust. But go there on any summer day and you’ll see lots of folks walking their four-legged friends. The Trust encourages dog-walking on the land, as you’ll see in this video tour of the area:

It’s also a popular place for other back-to-nature activities such as hiking or canoeing (and even ice skating in the winter).

Another great place for dog-walking, both on- and off-leash, is Fairview Park in South Fayette. Located about three miles from Bridgeville, just off of Washington Pike , the tranquil park gets plenty of canine visitors on summer evenings. It’s common to see dogs recognize each other from across one of the paths and run up to greet each other.

Where do you like to take your dog to walk without a leash?
