You can pay off your Bridgeville Public Library fines with food bank donations this month.

As part of a partnership with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, Bridgeville’s library is forgiving overdue book fees at the rate of $1 per donated food item.

To boost interest, the library has also slashed the fees that it charges for late materials, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:

In the past, DVD fines were $1 per day. Now, they’re 25 cents a day. The per-day fine for overdue children’s books is 10 cents, and the loan period on DVDs has increased to 21 days from seven.
