When police arrested a Canonsburg woman for shoplifting from the Bridgeville Rite-Aid on Feb. 2, they learned that she also stole items from the store on Jan 13. She now faces two counts of retail theft and one count of driving with a suspended license.
Three days later, police were called to Rite-Aid for another shoplifting incident. A 42-year-old West Virginia man was charged with retail theft after he allegedly stole three bracelets from the store.
In other police news:
- A 43-year-old Bridgeville man was charged with DUI after crashing his Jeep into a utility pole on McLaughlin Run Road.
- A 33-year-old Tennessee man was charged with DUI, speeding, and resisting arrest after a traffic stop on Washington Avenue on Jan. 30.
- Three women — one from Carnegie and two from Pittsburgh — face disorderly conduct and criminal mischief charges after police were called to a Dewey Avenue business on Feb. 1.
- A 9 a.m. call about a theft in progress at a McLaughlin Run Road residence led to the arrest of a 23-year-old Belle Vernon man on Feb. 19. Police arrived at the scene before the suspect was able to leave. He was charged with criminal trespassing. A 27-year-old Carnegie man was arrested after he stole a case of beer from a Railroad Street business at 9:51 p.m on Feb. 19. At 1:25 a.m. on Feb. 26, police were dispatched to a fight involving several people in the 700 block of Chess Street. A 19-year-old Washington, Pa. man was charged with underage drinking.
