On March 3, a 48-year-old Bridgeville man contacted police and said that he wanted to be arrested for being drunk. It was 4 p.m. When he wasn’t jailed fast enough for his liking, the man said, “What do I have to do, punch you officers to be arrested?” He was then arrested and lodged in jail until sober. In a police report, officers noted that he was “highly intoxicated” and had been involved in disturbances earlier in the day.

In other police news:

  • A 33-year-old Oakdale woman was arrested for DUI after a traffic stop on the 200 block of Prestley Road on March 13.
  • A 24-year-old Bridgeville man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on the 200 block of Patterson Avenue on March 13.
  • Five teenaged males were charged with disorderly conduct and turned over to their parents on March 13 after police discovered a small amount of marijuana in the teens’ vehicle following a traffic stop.
  • A 54-year-old Bridgeville woman was charged with criminal trespassing after she was found inside a condemned house on March 15.
